Comprehensive, hands-on training program brings Luminous software expertise to customers New York (April 23, 1997) -- Luminous Technology Corporation, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Imation Corp. (NYSE: IMN), today announced that it expects to launch the Luminous Certified Consultant program in May 1997, designed to provide hands-on, expert training on Luminous software applications for the Mac™ OS and Windows NT® platforms. The program includes standard training packages on Luminous software products, practical sessions on system design for digital prepress, configuring a Windows NT server, and customized sessions. Luminous will be training and certifying Luminous Certified Consultants, who will have extensive experience in traditional and electronic prepress, previous training experience, and solid communications skills. "Prepress houses, trade shops and service bureaus want to get the most out of their software investment," said Chris Elmer, Luminous Manager of Educational and Training Services. "The Luminous Certified Consultant program will supply these companies the individualized, hands-on expertise to get up to speed right away if they have just purchased the software, or, find new ways to automate their production processes." Consultants will be able to set up workflow, install and configure Luminous products, or adapt Luminous products to existing production systems. Courses on Luminous products include Luminous™ TrapWise™, Luminous PressWise™, Luminous Color Central™, Luminous Media Manager™, Luminous Virtual Network™, and Luminous OPEN. Additional topics include: "Basic Digital Prepress in a PostScript Environment," "Setting up a Microsoft® Windows NT® Server," "AppleScripting for OPEN," and "Configuring a Database on a Microsoft SQL Server." Pricing and Availability Training sessions from Luminous Certified Consultants will be available from Luminous beginning in second quarter 1997. Sessions are priced at $1,250 per day for up to three people, and $400 for each additional person. Other, customized packages also will be available.
